Go Against The Wind, Not With It.
“You will either live your dreams or live your fears” – Lisa Nicole Cloud
Tricks for easy success? Definitely not. Easy success is an oxymoron. Success always comes after failure, hardships, facing opposition, and yet not giving up. We have seen that an airplane takes off against the wind and not with it. Similarly, you have to face the odds and there will be times when you will feel like giving up. The best way to make yourself keep going is through motivation and it must come from within. By motivating yourself, you get an edge above others in achieving success.
The Don’t Care State
I call the first step as ‘ The don’t care state’. When you first realize your goal and are super excited to share it with your friends and family, the responses are likely to be – “Are you crazy?” Or “This is impossible!” Or “You’re kidding me”. You just have to avoid being affected by these questions. Trying to answer them makes you doubt yourself more. You just have to not care about what others say. People always have something negative to say. You just have to ignore everything and set your eyes upon your goal. Changing your mind at any stage will cost you the entire hard work you have done so far.
Break It Down
The second thing to do is, split your goal into smaller objectives. Your long term goal may seem to be out of your vicinity but if you set small and achievable objectives, you get motivated each time you complete a step. These small steps eventually lead you to success. Nothing is impossible if you work in an organized manner.
This may seem a little silly but it is a very efficient way of attaining what you want. All you have to do is imagine yourself reaching that stage! Imagine yourself getting what you want. The satisfaction you get when you imagine success will pull you towards working for it. Remember, imagination is free of cost! (The Lexophile – I totally agree with this point!)
Reading can give you confidence, ideas, and instructions on how to work at each stage of your life. Reading can take you to places you have never been! It shows you the experiences of the great scholars of the world. Here are some effective books that I have come across and it is my strong recommendation for you to read them:
1. Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill
2. How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie
3. 7 habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey
4. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
The last but the most important thing is to SMILE! Smiling can encourage you as well as others. Even in the worst situations, even when things get rough, smile. Smiling gives you the feeling that everything is going to be alright. Defeat is temporary, pull yourself up and dust yourself off, throw away the fear in you, learn to face rejections. In any situation, try to put in your best and you will certainly come out with the best results.
I assure you that success has a good taste! Once you taste it, you’ll never want to stop feeling its sensation. Keep trying and you’ll win!
